Have you ever smelled a certain scent and it reminded you of something? Perhaps the smell reminded you of a loved one, or of a happy or sweet experience from your past? If so, you have experienced just a small sampling of what aromatherapy is all about. If you haven’t heard of it before, you should know that aromatherapy has been around forever. It isn’t something new. It has been around since the dawn of time. The concept of aromatherapy is that through the usage of fragrances and essential oils, healing can be promoted in the soul, mind and body. The essential oils that are used in aromatherapy are derived from the leaves, blossoms, and the roots of herbs and other plants. The oils are very powerful in their concentrated forms and are not applied directly to the skin. They will first be diluted by oils—such as sweet almond or apricot kernel oil. Aromatherapy has many uses. Here are a few: As a Healer Aromatherapy can ease discomforts such as arthritis, allergies, … [Continue Reading...]

Your Life Path Number
January 10, 2012 by Leigh Walker · Leave a Comment
According to numerology, each one of us has a number. This number reflects things about our character, our aptitude, and our cosmic plan. To obtain your number, add the day of your birth, plus the month of your birth, plus the year of your birth. Then, add those numbers together. For example, if you were born on January 1 ,1981, you would add 1+1+1+9+8+1 to equal 21. Then you add 2+1 to equal 3. The number three would be your number. Below is a general rundown of what each number represents. Zero: The number zero represents nothingness and emptiness, but zero also contains everything and is a giver of life. Zero is often represented as an empty oyster that gives life. Character traits of zero are acceptance, creativity, and an emptiness that encompasses wholeness. Negative aspects of zero are un-organization and lack of detail. One: The number one represents action, beginning, invention, singleness, consciousness, and unity. All other numbers come from one. Character … [Continue Reading...]

Alternative Fuels for Cars that are Clean
November 7, 2011 by Albert T. Milligan · Leave a Comment
For years, we have powered our automobiles and other modes of transportation with fossil fuels. We have polluted our environment with emissions and by-products produced by the consumption of petroleum based fuels. As the limits of these resources are being tested, the search is on for other fuels to take their place. The new fuel sources that are being developed and tested are cleaner and will have less impact on the environment. They are sustainable and will be easy to be replenished, unlike oil and gas that are quickly being depleted. The federal government is encouraging research into fuels of the future. Tax incentives are being offered to companies who are working to develop fuel resources that will replace existing fuels that harm our environment. The incentives are also offered to consumers who support the change by purchasing vehicles that run on alternate fuel sources. As research and development continues, we have several alternate sources of fuel available. Automobile … [Continue Reading...]

Fractional Reserve 101: What you never learned in school
November 18, 2011 by Albert T. Milligan · Leave a Comment
The Fractional Reserve banking system began to take shape in the early 1900’s. Even though gold and silversmiths practiced something similar to Fractional Reserve as early as the 17th century, the actual lending of money didn’t transpire until much later. Over time, instead of using the paper receipts from the goldsmiths, forms of currency began to develop. Different forms of money and valuables began to change hands as payment for monies borrowed and items that were purchased. Eventually, the Fractional Reserve turned into the money lending system our banks and credit unions use today. The practice implies exactly what the name says. A fraction of all deposits made to a bank or lending institution is held in reserve to offset payouts and other costs. Banks and lending institutions are required by law to withhold in reserve 10% of all monies that are deposited. The other 90% can be loaned out to individuals, groups or businesses that are eligible to receive a loan. In the … [Continue Reading...]
