Where in the World are we?

Butterfly EffectWe live in a time where success is measured by monetary value. This leads many to misinterpret inspiration. As defined by dictionary.com inspiration is “an inspiring or animating action or influence.” Simply, this is the motivation one acquires from noticing something special or different. Most artists, the gurus of inspiration, will convey that they find it everywhere. Why is this? Artists are attuned to the environment around them; they notice the subtle changes that rearrange reality or perspective. Most people are so busy that they barely notice such subtleties when in fact they occur around them all the time.

Inspiration is in conjunction with reality. It is not hidden, it is in plain sight everywhere there is the presence of realism. Psychology will sometime go to the extent of suggesting that which is real is that which one conceives with their own mind. To help understand this perhaps we can look at spiritual reality. Spiritual reality is not obtainable in this life, but many of us believe in its existence. Is it reasonable to conclude that which exists is reality? The same inference can be made about the power of mind. Sometimes people sit and contemplate to become inspired. The reality here is a manifestation of thought that broadens our perspective.

This is not a mathematical equation, but deduction may be the answer to becoming inspired. People are too busy to recognize the obvious. Is it not obvious that the busy nature of society is an inspiration to others? In this sense we are not talking about a kind of inspiration that makes someone joyous, but rather it is a motivating factor. Maybe it motives the inspired to become less busy; perhaps they want to help others notice the busy nature of humanity and aid in its relief.

A common example of inspiration could be when a butterfly stumbles across your path. At this instance we become inspired, we think differently. Usually, there is a sense of gratification. We may stop to notice the small things, like the artist, or we may be motivated to think about the bigger picture. Whatever kind of influences the butterfly has over us it is defined as inspirational.

Remember that inspiration is always present. We just need to take the time to interact with it instead of ignoring it. The great philosophers did not ignore what they thought reality to be; instead they accepted its gifts and followed its pathway to understanding.

In this busy life we lead we may be ignoring inspiration and relying on our intellectual abilities to complete most tasks. If you notice, it is harder to complete a project when you are not inspired. Thus, to rid ourselves of all the junk we carry around and reveal a raw reality full of inspiration just might enable us to truly become successful. By this means, we probably will not let that which is tangible define our achievement. Instead, perhaps we will feel complete because we don’t have to sift through the manifestations of our own mind and allow a more natural course of life to evolve. We become inspired all the time and we may become at peace with ourselves.
